Grinding Gear Games has announced that it will be making a standalone PC client available for Path of Exile 2 today, December 4, at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET for those who want to pre-load the game ahead of time.
Grinding Gear Games will provide the client download through both its own website as well as a torrent simultaneously. While players can download the game’s client, they will be unable to log in until the early access period begins on December 6 at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET.
For Xbox players, pre-download is already available. For PS5 players, purchasing a Founder’s Pack should allow for pre-download. Packs should go live 24 hours before early access starts.
With Path of Exile 2 launching into Early Access soon, we’ve had a lot of players asking for pre-download to ensure they can play on launch. To accommodate this, we’ll be making the standalone PC client available for download at 5pm on Dec 5th (PST).https://t.co/vT6L4kd7qw pic.twitter.com/szPjUH8cV7

Path of Exile 2 was delayed multiple times, including a last-minute one back at the end of October this year due to server-side issues. However, it looks like it’s finally releasing this month. The game will feature full cross-play support, which means players will be able to match up with any other player, regardless of platform. Cross-progression will also be supported, allowing players to keep and carry over their saved data between multiple platforms.
Path of Exile 2 is a top-down action-RPG similar to that of Diablo. The game will enter early access at a price of $30 on December 6 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
