Bethesda has confirmed that the final version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle doesn’t contain any traces of the anti-piracy software Denuvo DRM.
A report claimed that Bethesda snuck in Deunvo DRM a few days before the game’s launch. According to the game’s SteamDB listing, it was apparently updated a few hours ago to include DRM. However, Bethesda commented on the claim, explaining that the retail version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle does not have it, and it was only present in review builds to prevent leaks.

Denuvo DRM has been criticized for negatively impacting PC games, allegedly causing issues like slow downs and performance problems. Denuvo parent company Irdeto has pushed back on these claims and attempted to demonstrate that the software doesn’t have an impact on games.
Developers have caught complaints about Denuvo DRM, to the point where some have removed it from the final release builds of their games. For example, developer Starbreeze removed Denuvo DRM from Payday 3 a week before its release. Irdeto also revealed a new anti-piracy software called TraceMark earlier this year.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be released on December 6 for those who purchase the premium edition and December 9 for everyone else. The game releases for PC and Xbox Series X|S first, with the PS5 release set for sometime in Spring 2025.
Bethesda recently revealed the game’s PC requirements, including six different spec configurations for players to consider.
