Bethesda’s Fallout games have been focused on what happened in America after a nuclear war devastated the planet. However, unofficial fan creations like Fallout London can offer glimpses of the world beyond America’s borders. Now, there’s a new mod on the horizon called Fallout: Nuevos Mexico, which may give players another country to explore in this post-apocalyptic era.

The trailer is in Spanish, but when the captions are turned on, an English translation appears. The speaker is a woman who openly has contempt for “those from the north, with their shiny armor and stories of greatness.” The woman doesn’t share her identity, but she does reveal that she runs a drug cartel and has no apologies to offer for any of it. The trailer also hints that some of the captives at her villa are being viscously butchered, and possibly eaten.

The Fallout: Nuevo Mexico mod is currently being made by a team led by Zapshock, and it is not affiliated with Bethesda in any way. In a post on YouTube, Zapshock writes, “The following content has been created with the intention of representing a dark, fictional reality inspired by the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout. It does not seek to glorify or idolize acts of violence committed by criminal groups, but rather to highlight the dangers of a devastated world.”

According to Zapshock, Mexico City will be the biggest hub in Fallout: Nuevo Mexico, but the mod is far from finished. There’s currently no timeframe for the mod’s release, but it will exclusively be available for PC when it is ready.
