The epic sci-fi combat of the Halo video game series is getting adapted to official tabletop form with the upcoming Halo: Flashpoint. The skirmish game sees players assemble teams of Halo Spartans or Banished Elites and send them into tactical turn-based battles. Those who have played similar wargames like Warhammer 40,000–especially the smaller-scale Killteam format–will find Halo: Flashpoint’s premise and gameplay familiar, but the game’s creator, Mantic Entertainment, says it’ll be easy to learn for newcomers to the genre.

If you want to get started with the new tabletop wargame, you can preorder the Halo: Flashpoint Spartan Edition box that includes enough minis and terrain for two players to engage in epic Spartan versus Banished skirmishes, plus all the necessary rulebooks, playing cards, and other gameplay pieces to learn to play the game. You can preorder Halo: Flashpoint Spartan Edition for $125 at Amazon ahead of its October 25 release.

It’s worth noting that the Halo: Flashpoint Spartan Edition box is also available from the official site for 100 euros, which equates to $110, but buying from Amazon is still likely the better option at the moment. You’ll get free shipping at Amazon, whereas shipping costs vary based on location from the manufacturer.

You’ll also get to start playing much sooner. Flashpoint is in such high demand that all preorders placed on the site after October 1 are classified as Wave 2 and won’t ship until March 2025. Orders from Amazon, however, are currently scheduled to ship on October 25. Halo: Flashpoint doesn’t have an exact release date, but it wasn’t expected to launch until November 2024. If you have Amazon Prime, you’ll wind up getting the game a few days before November begins.

That said, we don’t know how much stock is available, so grab these Amazon preorders quick before they sell out. This could be a great gift for Halo fans this holiday.

If you’re interested in grabbing even more Halo: Flashpoint materials, more releases are available for preorder from the official website, including expansions with additional figures, paint sets, extra terrain pieces, and more.
