Horizon Zero Dawn might be a contender for the youngest game to get the “remastered” treatment. The seven-year-old open-world action-adventure title will get an upgrade in October, with a new version released for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Sony announced Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered during its State of Play livestream, with a look at its updated visuals and other changes coming to the game. According to the presentation, the remastered version features graphical improvements to bring it in line with the fidelity of its sequel, 2022’s Horizon Forbidden West. Check out the trailer below.

In the visuals department, Zero Dawn will have new shaders and textures, upgraded character models, and “more than 10 hours of re-recorded conversation mocap,” which means a whole lot of the dialogue and conversations in Zero Dawn should see significant improvements. The game will also support Sony’s DualSense controllers with their adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, as well as Sony’s 3D audio tech.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is set to release on October 31. If you already own the original Horizon Zero Dawn, you can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10.
