Worms Armageddon wiggled onto the gaming scene in 1999, and to celebrate its 25th birthday and re-release on consoles and PC, the turn-based strategy game is getting a collector’s edition packed with physical goodies. A digital version of the game was launched on PS5, Xbox, and Switch earlier this year, but if you’re looking to snag a bunch of collectible goodies, the collector’s edition that arrives on December 3 is worth a closer look.

Preorders only appear to be open for Switch, though we’re expecting PS5 and Xbox preorders to open soon.

If you’re unfamiliar with Worms Armageddon, the strategy game sees players engaging in 2D turn-based warfare. You and your opponents will take turns launching missiles, flinging grenades, and generally causing mayhem as you try to knock out everyone else on the map.

Environments are fully destructible, allowing you to carve out tunnels for yourself or bury your enemy in a hole to limit their movement. There’s a lot of strategy to the hilarious action, and while it’s easy to learn the basics, competitive players will find plenty of content to sink their teeth into.

It’s a fun game, and our original Worms Armageddon review from 2000 gave it a solid 7.9 out of 10 thanks to its hilarious weapon options and impressive multiplayer offerings. Consider giving it a look if you missed out on the original or want to relive the action with updated graphics.

More classic video game preorders and deals

Worms Armageddon is just one of many other classic games returning modern platforms over the coming weeks. One of the most exciting is the Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection, which fans can look forward to picking up later this week. Preorders are still available on PC and consoles.

The beloved PS1 RPGs Suikoden I and II are also coming back with an HD remake next year, and preorders for the Day One edition include two bonus in-game items that accelerate your party’s early game progress.

There’s also the Yu-Gi-Oh: Early Days Collection that includes several Yu-Gi-Oh Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games on Nintendo Switch, and preorders for the physical version include two rare Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards.

Finally, the Castlevania Dominus Collection recently launched on consoles and PC. The collection packs five Castlevania games–three DS titles and two versions of the arcade spinoff Haunted Castle–in one game, and the PC version is already discounted to just $18.75 (was $25) at Green Man Gaming.
