From Software’s 1.13 update for Elden Ring is available now and introduces a lot of changes to the game. A significant part of the update aims to make it easier to kill one another in PvP, as well as general balance adjustments and changes to Armaments.

Going forward, poise damage will be increased for Light Great Swords, Backhand Blades, Hand-to-Hand Arts, and Beast Claws whenever someone plays PvP. The same applies to dual-wield attacks, which includes weapons like Straight Swords, Thursting Swords, and Curved Swords. In addition, whenever players use Miriam’s Vanishing, they’ll have a decreased invulnerability window against other players when they attack.

Aside from PvP, Needle Knight Leda, Pureblood Knight Ansbach, and Thiollier will receive increased stats when summoned in specific areas. Summoned Spirits will now have higher attack power and damage negation unless they are the Mimic Tear with a Revered Spirit Ash Blessing with five or more.

There will also be some changes to the gear that players use. For instance, the Repeating Crossbow, Spread Crossbow, and Rabbath’s Cannon will do more damage when upgraded. The Shield of Night will now have a higher damage negation when used against physical attacks. Also, the Golem Fist will now have an additional hitbox when using ranged fist attacks.

The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion has been out for over a month now, and players have already found impressive ways to beat the game. Just the other day, a streamer beat the game while playing with a dance pad and controller simultaneously, and another one-shot the toughest boss in the expansion.

Possible unstable performance fixes

For the PS5 version of the game, unstable framerate may be improved by using the “Rebuild Database” option from the device’s safe mode.In some PC versions, Ray Tracing may be unintentionally enabled and cause unstable performance. Please check the Ray Tracing setting in the “System” > “Graphics ” > “Ray Tracing Quality” from the title screen or in-game menu.In the PC version, the message “Inappropriate activity detected” may appear without cheating.To fix this issue, please verify the integrity of the game’s files before restarting the game.In the PC version, unstable framerate may be caused by third party applications that control mouse behavior. Deactivating these third party applications may improve performance. The version number of this update shown at the lower right corner of the Title Screen will be as follows: App Ver. 1.13
