The price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is going up from $17 to $20 a month soon, and if you’re looking to stack some codes while you still can, now is as good a time as any to grab some.

Amazon is currently offering three-month codes for $45 (these are normally $50), a big discount to the $51 that Microsoft charges directly from its store. After the price increase, three months of Xbox Game Pass will cost you $60, so if you’re prepared to invest in some codes, you can save a substantial amount of cash over the long term.

As a reminder, Game Pass Ultimate can be stacked for up to 36 months in all countries where it’s available. As of September 18, 2024, the maximum extension limit of Game Pass for Console will be 13 months, and this tier is no longer available to new members.

This won’t affect any existing stacks that existing subscribers may already have. When the deadline passes in September, several other tiers of Game Pass will increase in price as well.

For example, 36 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will cost you $720 after the new rates kick in, but with the Amazon discount, that price drops to a much better $540. It’s still a fair chunk of change, but saving $180 overall for one of the best gaming subscription services is a worthwhile investment if you can afford it.

Other Game Pass price increases include PC Game Pass increasing from $10 to $12 per month, and the annual price of Xbox Game Pass Core is going from $60 to $75 a year. The $10 monthly subscription price will remain unaffected for that leaner gaming library. Alongside its collection of monthly Game Pass titles, this year’s upcoming Call of Duty game, Black Ops 6, will also be included in Game Pass on release day.
