Rain falls, wind blows, and Call of Duty games tend to be very large downloads at launch. Last week, it looked like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was set to break a few records as reports surfaced of it having a huge 300GB install size. It turns out the estimated file size was technically incorrect, as the Call of Duty Updates social media account explained that the preorder pages did not accurately represent the real download size.
Black Ops 6 can be 300GB in size, but only if players install Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Warzone, all relevant content packs, and all localized languages combined alongside it. This is typically not representative of the average Call of Duty player when they install the game. “The actual estimation of the Black Ops 6 file size will be available closer to launch,” the account added.

Correction: The estimated file size currently displayed on the Black Ops 6 pre-order pages does not represent the download size or disk footprint for Black Ops 6.
The sizes as shown include the full installations of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone…

The last few Call of Duty games have allowed players to be more selective with which parts of the game they want to install. Players can choose from the full package or just download the multiplayer or campaign components, and you can choose to delete one of those sections to save space.
In other Black Ops 6 news, developer Treyarch said that the campaign will be about as long as you’d expect from a Call of Duty game. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on October 25 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, and it’ll also be available through Xbox Game Pass. If you’re looking to try the game out before October, here’s how to get into the Black Ops 6 beta.
