GameStop has posted what appears to be the release date for the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. The remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 doesn’t have an official release date at the moment, but a recent post from GameStop implies that the game will be out on November 17.
In a now deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), the video game retailer wrote, “Prepare to slay in Metal Gear Solid [Delta]: Snake Eater. Where stealth & survival meet savagery! Coming 11.17.” That release date of November 17 hasn’t been posted anywhere else and GameStop’s own website has a placeholder date of December 31, 2025, listed as the game’s release. The post was up for over an hour before being deleted.
GameStop has since deleted the post.
It’s not immediately clear if this is an unintentional leak or if the date in the post is a mistake. It’s important to point out that November 17, 2004 was the release date of the original Metal Gear Solid 3, so either the date is an homage to the original, or someone accidentally pulled the old date for the post. November 17 falls on a Sunday this year, which would be abnormal for a video game release, as they typically release on Tuesday or Friday.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater did make an appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday, where it got a new gameplay trailer, but no date was given at the event. Preorders for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, both the normal version and the collector’s edition, also went live recently.
