Quidditch Champions, the Harry Potter game about the magical sport, will launch September 3, 2024, it was announced today during Summer Game Fest.
The game will launch that day across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Intriguingly, it’ll be available at launch through PlayStation Plus, but there is no word on Game Pass.
A trailer for the game featured iconic Harry Potter characters like Harry Potter himself, but the video also seems to suggest players will create their own character and try to become a… Quidditch champion. Take a look at the trailer for yourself above.
Quidditch Champions was announced in April 2023, and there have been playtests already. It’s described as a “fast-paced, online multiplayer game.”
It’s the second Harry Potter game in as many years, following 2023’s massively successful Hogwarts Legacy. It was 2023’s best-selling game overall in the US, even out-selling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
Qudditch Champions is developed by Unbroken Studios. Although controversial author J.K. Rowling is not personally involved with its development, she stands to profit from its success.
