So it seems like we’ve all been playing Baldur’s Gate 3… for the plot. Larian Studios has just revealed what players have been doing since the game came out, and it turns out players have collectively kissed their companions over 75 million times.
We know which party members players preferred over the others thanks to a series of posts on the Larian Twitter account that showcased what players did throughout their playthroughs. Leading the charges when it came to kisses was everyone’s favorite goth princess, Shadowheart, with 27 million kisses, followed by Astarion, with 15 million kisses. If you’re wondering who came in last, it was Minthara, with only 169,937 kisses.
It’s been a year since Baldur’s Gate 3 was released, and you know what we’ve realised?
Over a quarter of you can’t be trusted to not pick a fight with a djinni, and a surprising amount of you enjoy bear sex and tentacles.

Interestingly enough, a little over half a million people also decided to romance Halsin. 70% of those who did chose to have him stay in human form, while the other 30% picked his bear form. Meanwhile, 1.1 million people also romanced the Emperor, and 63% decided to have them stay in their Guardian form, while 37% had them revert to their true form.
The post also revealed that Astarion was the most-picked Origin character, Paladins were the most-played class, and Elfs were the most-played race. Other information included how often players petted the Owlbear cub and Scratch, and which endings players received.
As a part of the one-year launch, the CEO and founder of Larain Studios, Swen Vincke, also shared a statement on X/Twitter in which they thanked players for all the positive feedback.
You have no idea how much of an impact you had on all of us. You’ve made us better developers and gave us so many reasons to continue doing what we do.
Thank you for all the energy! https://t.co/tJRbW8ALim

This isn’t the only thing Larian Studios has been up to lately. Recently, the studio announced that it had launched a new “community-focused” YouTube channel called Larian: Channel From Hell, which will post behind-the-scenes content.
