The 2024 edition will be a double feature, as once the Xbox broadcast ends, Call of Duty will be tagging itself in for the worldwide reveal of this year’s Black Ops 6 game. What to expect from Xbox Games Showcase 2024

Officially, Xbox says you can expect a new look at upcoming games from across its portfolio–Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios–and several previews from third-party partners. Looking back at January’s Developer Direct, quite a few Xbox games were shown off then, and it’s likely that we’ll see more of everyone’s favorite archeologist in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Obsidian’s new fantasy game Avowed, and the grand strategy of Ara History Untold.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Dungeons of Hinterberg, and a look at what’s next for Sea of Thieves could also be on the cards, and we’ve also seen a few Game Pass updates in the past in previous Xbox showcase events. On the third-party side, Xbox has a lot it could show off here. March’s Xbox Partner Preview featured games like Unknown 9: Awakening, Capcom’s Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and Final Fantasy 14 Online amongst several other interesting titles, so there’s a chance that we’ll see more of those games during the livestream.

Following the Xbox Games Showcase, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Direct will be up next. After an interesting viral marketing campaign, the worldwide premiere for the next entry in the Black Ops series will show what this year’s game looks like. Will it contain guns, military jargon, and a few explosions? An educated guess points toward a definite “maybe” for the 2024 Call of Duty game.
